E-Commerce Cryptocurrency Payment Processing with COINQVEST's SDKs for PHP, Ruby and NodeJS

An introduction to cryptocurrency payment processing with COINVQEST's software development kits for PHP, Ruby and NodeJS. Online merchants and e-commerce sites can now easily accept the most popular cryptocurrencies programmatically and integrate with their own accounting systems.

E-Commerce Cryptocurrency Payment Processing with COINQVEST's SDKs for PHP, Ruby and NodeJS

Cryptocurrencies have dramatically transformed the way online merchants can accept payments over the internet. Today, money is programmable and flows within seconds from one part of the world to another. Using the COINQVEST merchant platform, it is possible to get paid in digital currencies that exist on decentralized cryptographic ledgers, but settle in a local currency, e.g. USD, CAD or NGN. We currently support payments originating from Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, XRP Ledger, as well as any asset on the Stellar Network.

COINQVEST takes out the complexity of real time blockchain monitoring and payment processing on multiple networks. It associates charges with customer information and converts captured funds programmatically into something a merchant or online business wants (usually that's money in their bank account). COINQVEST'S platform then generates compliant accounting reports for business book-keeping, financial auditors, and tax authorities.

There are a couple of ways to integrate with COINQVEST and start getting paid. On one hand, non-developers can make use of browser based ad-hoc payment requests and create charges using a graphical interface. On the other hand, programmers and development teams can seamlessly connect to our suite of powerful APIs and collect payments via the use of code. This is the use case COINQVEST was originally built for and the most natural option for online shops and e-commerce websites.

The Merchant API

Generally, the COINQVEST API is accessible with any programming language. All it takes is a registered account and a way to issue HTTP requests from within code. Virtually all modern programming languages provide means to do this natively. The Merchant API is REST based, which means it follows standardized principles of interoperability between computer systems on the internet. It is very likely that your programming language already has numerous libraries for REST clients that can communicate with REST based web services out of the box. If not, all you really need is the ability to send HTTP GET and POST requests with custom headers to a web server.

Software Development Kits (SDKs)

Fortunately, developers don't have to concern themselves with such low-level intricacies if they don't want to. COINQVEST has released well-documented open-source software development kits (SDKs) for the most popular programming languages on GitHub. The SDKs can be installed via their respective package managers or as drop-ins to an existing code base.

Once installed, interacting with the COINQVEST server is easy. Replace the API secret and key in the client constructor with the credentials in your account and start accessing the endpoints documented here. The GitHub repositories for PHP, Ruby, and NodeJS come with a full of code examples to help developers get up-and-running quickly. The SDK code and all its components are meticulously documented to help understand what they do. Some SDKs have built in logging features, which can be used to debug issues in addition to the API and webhook request logs available on the web platform.

Get Started

Our API documentation provides all the information needed to collect payments, manage customers, maintain wallets and get notified when a payment completes. We also published a guide to help developers get started step-by-step. The guide is based on the PHP SDK but it is equally useful for programers working with Ruby or NodeJS.
